What can't you miss at Gelataria Nannarella?
It's one of our favorite ice cream shops in Lisbon and it's not by chance - Gelataria Nannarella is the artisanal ice cream shop that you really must visit.
We know, however, that it’s not easy to make a decision when you're ordering. Even though the choice is guaranteed to be great, it's never easy to choose just one flavor (or two... or three!). The ice creams and sorbets are all made with premium ingredients, with no addition of coloring or preservatives, and served with the help of a spatula, which means the customer is only paying for the quantity of ice cream/cup size or cone and not the number of flavors - any combination is possible!
To help you out, we've gathered five flavors that you'll want to taste on your next visit to Nannarella - regardless of your choice, ask for fresh cream, whipped every two hours, since that's the perfect final touch. Le us know what you think of each of them, will you?
Raspberry | With a very high percentage of fruit (almost 70%!), the raspberry ice cream is unique and truly tasty. Even if it is a safe choice (or even ordinary!), when you taste it you'll realize that, in this Italian house, even the most obvious flavors are surprising!
Mango | The confection of this ice cream is similar to the previous one since real fruit is also used (at Nannarella there are no formulas for flavors!), but there's an interesting curiosity: this ice cream is made up only with orange mangoes - that's why, in addition to an intense flavor, the ice cream has such a vivid color!
Pistachio | It's rare to find a pistachio ice cream that has no colorants, but at Nannarella that's not even an option. The color captivates us and the flavor, once again, doesn't disappoint. This is not a flavor that pleases everyone (the real pistachio taste guarantees contradictory opinions), but if you like pistachio ice cream, you'll like this one even more!
Stracciatella | When we say Nannarella makes the ice creams, we're not lying! The stracciatella ice cream is one of the Italian flavors that the ice cream shop presents us with an infusion of vanilla. The chocolate, in turn, is cut by hand into small pieces so that the texture is the perfect final touch.
Basil | It's one of the most surprising flavors from Nannarella, and it's created with very fresh products. Basil leaves are infused for six hours (yes, six hours!) so that the taste stays very present in the ice cream. Spoiler alert: mission accomplished!
