Altis Belém Hotel & Spa

Discovering the World from Belém

The Altis Belém Hotel & Spa was born between two of the major monuments in honor of the Portuguese Discoveries, the Belém Tower and the Discoveries Monument. Everything was thought out to the smallest detail so that the hotel projected Portugal’s history, without taking the spotlight from the monuments that surround it.

Let’s start by the building itself, simple lines and a single tone that come to life with this place’s extraordinary natural light, which it shows off for its guests. Each and every room is unique, with a different interior decorative panel, theme and name. The rooms represent three corners of the world and are divided into the following wings: America, Asia and Africa.

The undulating garden gives continuity to the hotel’s architecture because it was naturally incorporated into the Tejo River landscape, and adorned by the beautiful Ginkgo Bilobas trees, with scarce foliage, so guests can enjoy the view of the river. The meal reception area is also a messenger of an episode from Portuguese history: portraying the Rhino that D. Manuel took to Pope Leo X as a symbol of peace for Christianity.

Altis Belém Hotel & Spa also provides moments of relaxation with the SPA by Karin Herzog. If desired, at the end of your massage you can go up to the hotel terrace and complete this relaxing moment with a breathtaking view.

Here, hospitality and tranquility are in order, while the location and landscape is highly emphasized. This is the magic combination so that those who visit, feel truly great here: whether the idea is to stay overnight in one of the three corners of the world, enjoy a relaxing massage at the spa, a simple afternoon coffee, a weekend brunch, a light lunch or even better: dinner at the hotel’s Michelin star restaurant Feitoria.
