Eighteen 21 Casa de S. Domingos
Eighteen 21 Houses - a name we are proud to know. It’s a set of family houses, which represents a perfect balance between the ancient charm and today's comfort. We went to visit Casa de São Domingos, in Lapa, and we immediately realized what differentiates it.
Casa de São Domingos was one of the first houses to be transformed into accommodation by Constança’s family, who has welcomed us with a smile and told us the history of this charming place.
This is where she grew up, with her parents and her siblings, in a house that is as historic as it is beautiful - the details of the original building that survived through the centuries were maintained. The highlight goes to the tiles (from the 17th and 18th centuries) and the stairs, designed by the renowned architect Raul Lino - details filled with an essence that makes all the difference!
In Lapa, close to the famous quarters of Santos and Baixa, but hidden enough to be quiet, Casa de São Domingos reveals itself as a paradise for a peaceful stay in the tumultuous Lisbon. Nearby everything, but far away from the hustle and bustle - just how we want a stay in a city to be, right?
With two bedrooms, a complete and equipped kitchen, and a place for social interaction and dining outside, this is an ideal option for small families and groups. How exclusive can a stay with a Mediterranean garden be, especially in the heart of the city?
This historic and lovely place is the result of a family’s years of love and dedication. Today, Eighteen 21 Houses are prepared to welcome you, taking you on a journey into the past, with all the comfort that modernity has to offer.
Cool Tip: Eighteen 21 Houses has two more residences in the greater Lisbon area: Casa de São Paulo, next to Mercado da Ribeira, and Quinta Velha, in Sintra! They may be good suggestions if your trip is focused on these areas.
