Besides the classic Peruvian recipes, it is possible to find suggestions inspired by the influence of the sea, dishes characterized by the Mediterranean diet, others influenced by the East flavors, and even the Creoles - traditional recipes which we could taste at a Peruvian grandmother's house, those classics transmitted from generation to generation.
The trendy place, the relaxed atmosphere, and the attentive staff make this gastronomic journey a genuine and cool adventure at the table. On our visit, we started by tasting two available couverts. The traditional, with “zapallo loche” (a Peruvian native pumpkin) and quinoa, accompanied by butter flavored with Salicornia, togarashi and garlic, and the Segundo Muelle Couvert, with banana chips, a wonderful Aji Amarillo Sauce, and Cancha (a corn speciality). Next, of course, we tried the Ceviche Tropical, a combination of shrimp and fresh tuna, with Aji Amarillo Sauce and passion fruit, garnished with camote, choclo, and cancha. Finally, we tasted the spectacular Risotto Lima Norte, a dish with grilled tuna on a bed of pumpkin and vegetable risotto, with dry sauce with coriander. At Segundo Muelle, the desserts are exclusive - and unbelievable! - therefore, do as we did and let yourself be tempted by the fantastic flavor of the Chef’s Cheesecake, to finish with a flourish. It’s a cheese and lime pie with an exotic topping of passion fruit curd, with a chocolate base.
