In the heart of Chiado, on the emblematic Calçada do Duke, you’ll find the Oficina do Duque and, just by peeking through the glass windows, you immediately want to go inside.

This restaurant – or should we call it a flavor workshop? – is where the ordinary becomes extraordinary. And it’s not hard to understand this concept at all, because it’s everywhere! It all starts with the raw concrete walls, adorned with different gilded carvings or with antique kitchenware.

The food? Extraordinary. The flavors are Portuguese, but their preparation reflects Chef Rui Rebelo’s path – the duke of this workshop. We discovered a kitchen that is both instinctive and delicious, which managed to genuinely surprise us with each dish we tasted. We highlight the cooked octopus with crushed potatoes for starters, the braised sausage with root puree and scented soy for the main course and for dessert... well, we couldn’t decide between the milk foam with caramel ice cream and the chocolate mousse with fruity olive oil and fleur de sel – both divine!

Cool Tip: enjoy the terrace at the end of a hot summer afternoon. To really experience this moment, order a "Vodka Basil", a cocktail with vodka and basil. This cocktail is one of the Chef’s recommendations... and now it’s one of ours as well!
