Infame Restaurant
Infame is the name of the restaurant at the 1908 Lisboa Hotel, and around here there is no lack of history and culture to get to know - and good food, of course! In Bairro do Intendente, Infame takes its vile name from the history of this neighborhood and of the entire city and country.
In 1908, the year the building originated, Avenida Almirante Reis was called Avenida Rainha D. Amélia, in honor of the audacious woman who, with a bouquet in her hand, tried to defend her husband from the infamous men who imprisoned him. And so this idea was born - the team rescued the bad reputation of the neighborhood, and presented it a century later, renewed and reinvented.
Infame is a space that absorbs the multiculturalism of downtown and takes us on a journey through the flavors of the world, while keeping its feet on national territory and preserving its roots.
The space, with pieces by Bordallo II, a remarkable and very Portuguese tile floor, and industrial style in every detail, is really the perfect setting for creating good memories with those you love most. It is impossible not to feel good here! And the menu is as enjoyable as the whole space.
Based on Portuguese cuisine - inspired by the rich flavors of our country, with special emphasis on seasonal and local ingredients - Infame's cuisine presents an incredible fusion of flavors that is as rich as the entire neighborhood. The “a la carte” menu is a must, but for a nice break in a workday, there are also special dishes for an executive lunch.
On our visit, we were well treated and well-fed - and we are still recovering from this experience (is it jet lag?!). For starters, we really have to recommend the Salmon Ceviche with tiger milk and corn or the Tuna Pica-pau with fries and egg. But, hold your horses, (literally!) because the main courses are to die for: "hold your horses" is the sirloin steak with homemade sauce, egg and fries that meat lovers will love, and "Oh My Cod" is the suggestion of cod pilpil with sweet potatoes (to eat and cry for more)!
The desserts (of course we couldn't try just one, even with a full tummy!) made us finish the experience with a promise to return: the "You sexy thing", a chocolate mousse so smooth it melts in your mouth, with peanut praline and olive oil; and the "Are you nuts", a hazelnut cake, with mascarpone, coffee, and salted caramel, did not leave us indifferent.
Cool Tip: If you enjoyed the experience, share it! Infame has vouchers available that you can give to those you love most (and then you'll have, perhaps, one more excuse to come back!).
