Premium Wine House

THE SECRET CELLAR FOR WINE LOVERS

A wine cellar and bar located in the basement of Portugal Boutique City Hotel is the secret place that promises a unique experience. Premium Wine House takes us on a sensory journey through the wine regions of the country (and the world!) and, in its welcoming and intimate atmosphere, brings together true wine lovers for a relaxed moment.

The cellar includes some rare references, such as the 1966 Barca Velha or the 1933 Visconde Salreu, which means that Premium Wine House is also a kind of museum. However, the experience goes far beyond the simple visit.

Premium Wine House has a tasting area, where different references of wine and various snacks are served, as well as other drinks. The concept is, above all, to praise national producers, and that's the reason why you’ll find entirely Portuguese options, including sheep's cheese stuffed with ham and fig jam, canning and the traditional “caracoizinhos”, among other types of bread that can't be missing from a Portuguese table. We had the pleasure of tasting Premium Wine House's wine brunch, an innovative and different concept, perfect for weekend plans with someone special, or even to try with friends! During our visit, we were introduced to the wine Terras do Grifo, a reference from the Douro region, from the brand Rozés. Among, red, white or rosé, each had its own special characteristics. We started by tasting the cress salad with smoked salmon, which perfectly matches a rosé wine. But we must highlight the cheese board - with Roquefort, Camembert, Brie, ripened sheep's cheese and soft sheep's cheese, sided with marmalade, apricot jam and nuts. In a good brunch you can't miss the omelet, so don't miss the asparagus one, or taste the delicious Eggs Benedict with crusty bread. The experience couldn't end better: since it's fresher and lighter, we started by tasting the cheesecake, and then the chocolate mousse - denser and sweeter, and we finished with a flourish with a pistachio macaroon that cleans the palate.

For small groups, Premium Wine House organizes special visits that, not only include the visit and an explanation of the various wines, addressing the regions from which they come from and the characteristics that are found in each wine tasting, but also feature a tasting menu to enjoy in a quiet moment, around a table filled with quality national products. For those who are interested in wine tourism, this is a place you can't miss.
