Cais do Sodré is also live music, and MusicBox is here to prove it: more than 115,000 enthusiasts pass through here every year. With a strong bet on the concert and clubbing sections as well, the club has assumed itself as an integral part of the cultural life of both the Cais do Sodré and the city of Lisbon. From 0:00 until 6:00 in the morning, sound comes to life at this place, located under a bridge.

Whether it’s a DJ or a live band, in reality MusicBox is home to several projects that mirror its tradition and commitment to modernity and challenge. The first example is the Jameson Urban Routes, which was the first indoor festival in Portugal and a self-proclaimed barometer of new trends in urban music.

Around the month of April, MusicBox is also the epicenter of “Lisboa Capital República Popular” (Lisbon Capital Popular Republic), an event that celebrates, discusses and renews the values of the Portuguese revolution. On a closing note, a well deserved highlight of the “Festival Silêncio” (Silence Festival), an event of reference in the city, dedicated to the written word and its importance in art.
