Taste of Lisboa Food Tours

AROUND LISBON IN 80 FLAVORS

Taste of Lisbon was designed for those who enjoy getting to know the architecture, history, and culture of a city through eating habits and traditional food. These are not (just) food tours, they are true cultural experiences for curious travelers.

The tours are done in a way to avoid tourist areas and take the participants to get to know the heart of Lisbon: where the locals live, where they hang out, where they socialize... The tours are guided by locals, with no experience as guides, but with great knowledge of the city, so that the tour is not an automatic experience but becomes as personal as possible, truly bringing people together and giving them room to talk and dialogue.

There are several tours with this same concept, all pre-scheduled on the website - you can choose the Regular Tours or opt for a Tailor-Made Experience. The regular tours are half-day trips through residential neighborhoods and more peaceful areas, which include 7 gastronomic stops: restaurants, markets or stores that let us truly get to know the flavor of Lisbon, away from the tourist bustle. These tours have a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 12 and are a great way to get to know the city with a group of friends or with family. Tailored experiences, on the other hand, can be out of town and are (as the name implies) tailor-made to the needs and desires of the participant. All you have to do is bring your ideas of places to visit and food to try, and the team will create a personalized tour, Lisbon style.

We selected the "Lisbon Market, Food and Cultural Walk", through the Campo de Ourique Market, and we couldn't have enjoyed it more! We had the opportunity to taste the Best Chocolate Cake in the World at the store with the same name; get to know the practice of canning mackerel, tuna and sardines at Parceria das Conservas; snack on cod salad with chickpeas at Petiscaria; delight ourselves with the fried cuttlefish at Padaria do Povo; try the mussels à Bulhão Pato and a craft beer at Moules & Beer; stop at Pigmeu to taste the pork croquettes, the cracklings with the season' vegetables, and the pork sandwich; and, of course, there was still time for a pastel de nata (custard tart) at Aloma.

The Taste of Lisbon gastronomic tours provide truly unique moments with a taste of the city's best cuisine. Here, you will enjoy memorable experiences, and you will get to know Lisbon in a completely new way. Book your tour now!

Cool Tip: Besides the tours, Taste of Lisboa offers external services that promote Portuguese cuisine such as cooking classes or meals in private homes.
