Restaurante Panorâmico Varanda de Lisboa
It was the view that captivated us, but the meal at Restaurante Panorâmico Varanda de Lisboa did not disappoint, and we left with the certainty that we will return at the next opportunity.
With one of the best views over the city of Lisbon, the restaurant of Hotel Mundial highlights the traditional Portuguese cuisine in a modern menu and, with the signature of Chef Vitor Sobral, provides a very interesting gastronomic experience.
Here, the typical Portuguese flavors and products are honored, and Restaurante Panorâmico Varanda de Lisboa is the right choice for a lunch in the middle of the workday routine (the suggestions of the day can be enjoyed in this meal and are always inspired by traditional Portuguese dishes, such as “pataniscas de bacalhau” (fried codfish fritters) or “cozido à portuguesa” (Portuguese traditional stew)).
We chose two classic dishes - the duck rice and the roasted octopus (with almonds, apricot, and rosemary) -, but not without first trying the mushrooms in a tepid salad and the black pork sausage. Disappointments? Zero. All the dishes were on point, and the farewell, with the dessert of the day, is second to none.
Varanda favors fresh and seasonal ingredients and quality is guaranteed. The menu is appealing and diversified, the wines go perfectly with the dishes, and the dining room, with a pleasant environment and a decoration adequate to the concept of the space, proves to be ideal for the most diverse occasions. Have you already made your reservation?
Cool Tip: At dinner, the meal is accompanied by the wonderful sound of the piano, played live, and the experience takes on a new dimension.
