In a relaxed and lively environment arises O Prego da Peixaria. This is an irreverent place that aims to honor the cultural past of the city of Lisbon and its classic “marisqueiras” (restaurants specialized in seafood). Reinventing this tradition, it presents the classic “pregos” (a traditional sandwich) with meat, but also with fish, wrapped in artisanal bread.

We visited the place at Saldanha, and the atmosphere captivated us immediately upon arrival. A rustic and contemporary, urban and unassuming venue, where the funny details present in the decoration stand out, and, of course, the painting of the ceiling – a tribute to our dear Lisbon and its traditions.

In O Prego da Peixaria you can choose your lunch or dinner from a menu that includes numerous dishes, including fish and meat sandwiches; covering for example original salmon burgers, cuttlefish, shrimp, cod and even vegetarian “pregos”. Some of the proposals pay tribute to the flavours of our islands, highlighting the bread from different origins. Here you can see and know exactly what you're going to eat.

We tried the incredible Prego Yuppie, with meat from the loin, basil mayonnaise, cheddar cheese and bacon, and also the salmon and cuttlefish burger, served with tomato and seaweed, with cuttlefish “bolo do caco” (traditional bread from the Madeira Island). For those of you who know the Madeiran “pregos”, they do them justice. Amazed at the experience, we decided to try the Tuna Salad, with roasted tuna, penne pasta, arugula, apple, nuts, and vinaigrette sauce. We can only recommend that you taste the Marilyn Monroe potatoes and the sweet potatoes - the perfect accompaniments, especially with the sauces! The natural juices are a good side to these delicacies, after all they are fresh and healthy – try the pineapple and mint.

Cool Tip: O Prego da Peixaria is perfect for families! The children's menu is very appealing and is available for children up to the age of 12.
