Legumi Sushi Vegan
Leonardo Lattari, the owner of this place, started making sushi as a child. After having already opened a restaurant in Lisbon, and even a hostel, in 2018, he decided to invest in a very planet-friendly novelty: vegan sushi! The sushimen tells us that the idea came up after his daughter said the fish were our friends and that we shouldn't kill them. Leonardo, who has since stopped eating animal protein, has adopted this lifestyle and tested the options with his clients - the success was immediate, and even his daughter loves it!
After doing several tests and looking for other options that added flavor and texture, Leonardo now creates menus only with vegan products, in constant update and innovation. In this capital's restaurant all the used ingredients are fresh! Daily, the best products are sought in the market, and the menu of each day depends exclusively on the available offer. Therefore, don't be surprised if the visit is not the same as the first - here there are no recipes and the menu is seasonal in order to adjust to the season's options.
The highlight is actually for the delicious Legumi's suggestions: the presentation is appealing and extremely careful, there are vegan wine options and over ten home-made sauces, no wonder everything is so wonderful! We have tasted the soup - the soups are made individually and at the time - with an absolutely delicious taste, and the mushroom salad, which wasn't a whit behind! We recommend the tasting menu, since this way you can taste several options and multiple sushi pieces, as well as enjoy a complete experience.
Legumi Sushi Vegan is definitely the place to go if you're looking for a healthy place to eat, even if you haven't adopted the vegan lifestyle. If you're vegan, you can bring your friends who aren't and still be sure everyone will love it! In a cozy and relaxed place, near the lookout point of Senhora do Monte, Legumi also houses a grocery store with vegan and biological products. Options range from cheeses, chocolates and even t-shirts, everything thought for the planet!
Cool Tip: Legumi has a take-away service! Since the space is small, with only 32 places, you can order your meal to eat at home.
