Estórias na Casa da Comida

Portuguese cuisine with a touch of elegance

Estórias na Casa da Comida is a unique place. Here we are welcomed with the contagious smiles of Carlos, Tânia and the entire team, friendly and helpful, that puts this restaurant in an even more special place in our hearts.

The elegant and alternative decoration combines perfectly with the sophistication that characterizes each dish. The tiles, the metallic and wood details, the books, the art... Everything contributes to a special atmosphere. No wonder Casa da Comida has been a success for 40 years!

Here the main focus is on Portugal and the Portuguese people: the food enchants with the improbable details that it adds to the traditional bets, the wine list presents the best that is produced in the country, and if you look closely, you will see that even Fernando Pessoa peeks happily from one of the shelves!

The chef surprises us with his innovative approaches to traditional cuisine, and makes sure that we only leave here with good things to point out. And so it was, starting with the Mediterranean slipper lobster salad and the partridge escabeche, two lightly delicious dishes that we wouldn't trade for anything. Since everything is divine, we chose a meat dish and a fish dish, from which we highlight the grouper with seasonal vegetables and coriander sauce and the suckling pig with soufflé potatoes and chili sauce. For dessert, we couldn't miss the opportunity to try the wonderful Crème Brulée. However, the surprises didn't stop there and came along with our coffee: a glass of Muscat wine and a small vanilla and strawberry cupcake that was just as beautiful as it was tasty!

If you are one of those indecisive people that are not afraid to venture out, dare to try the Degustation Menu – Loucura do Chef (Chef's Madness). We are sure that you will understand why Estórias na Casa da Comida was one of the first winners of a Michelin Star in Portugal! The truth is that there is only one way to leave the Casa da Comida: with a happy stomach and a huge desire to return as soon as possible.

Cool Tip: If the day is inviting, take advantage of the patio to treat yourself with a cocktail. The light and modern tones or the decoration with porcelain and tiles will create the perfect setting for an unforgettable moment.
