José Avillez is a name we often mention in Lisbon Cool, and the reasons couldn't be better. The Portuguese Chef has accustomed us to the irreverent places and tasty dishes that we can't help but recommend - some way, we always leave his restaurants surprised and eager to return.
Cantina Peruana, on Cais do Sodré, is no exception. José Avillez and Diego Muñoz, allies in this adventure, invite us to take a trip to Peru through the palate. Contemporary Peruvian cuisine, which leads us to walk the streets of Lima, with its different gastronomic influences - Andean, Spanish, African, Japanese or Chinese - is the protagonist.
Inspired by the environment of the ancient Peruvian canteens and pisco bars, Cantina Peruana offers an innovative menu in Lisbon, and Diego Muñoz, the Executive Chef, cooks only with the best and freshest ingredients. In Peru, the canteen is a meeting place to live together and the chefs’ duo honors this tradition.
We can only recommend some of the dishes that made us so happy while we chatted and shared: the “Ceviche Clássico”, the “Empanadas de Ají de Gallina” and the “Saltado do Mar”. For dessert? The delicious Chocolate Mousse! Be sure to taste “Pisco Sour” - there's nothing more Peruvian, and you'll love to taste with this flavor.
We recommend that you make a reservation, and this can be made online on Cantina Peruana's site.
From Tuesday to Saturday: from 7 p.m. to midnight.
