Coleção Berardo Museum
The Portuguese collector, Joe Berardo, along with Picasso, Dali, Marcel Duchamp, Magritte, Miró, among other artists, invite you to visit the coolest modern and contemporary art collections in Lisbon. Ready to go?
The Coleção Berardo Museum opened a door to culture and art in Lisbon. Along the museum’s different floors, it is possible to access the highest and purest representation of modern and contemporary movements through 862 works, from temporary and permanent exhibitions by national and international artists from various cultural backgrounds.
Both exhibitions are worth visiting and complement each other while presenting the main artistic movements from the 20th century up until the present day and age. The works, which are chronologically displayed, present new perspectives on the memory of a certain period and focus on conveying the concerns which artists faced and how they reacted to them.
Filled with exhibits that assume a historical and experimental attitude, a visit to the Coleção Berardo Museum will allow a reflection on issues raised today through highly significant pieces of work.
Cool Tip: we recommend that you first visit the permanent exhibitions at the Coleção Berardo Museum, especially the exhibition on the 2nd floor, referring to the radical changes that the artistic concepts have underwent between the years 1900 and 1960. Then, be sure to continue the artistic path all the way to the temporary exhibitions!
